Hello There, I am trying to render using Vray and for some reason it is not using more than 21% of the CPU, when it should ideally be using 100%.

If you take a look at the image I've attached you can see it's only using 4 cores.

I just downloaded vray so i should be up-to-date on that. I am running windows 10 and I do not want to upgrade to windows 11. I'm using 2023 Max.

Has anybody heard of or had this issue? Any idea how to solve it? My rendering is awfully slow as you could imagine.

Thank you,

Marshall

I reached out to Chaos Group, and this is their reply.

The new 12th Gen Intel® Core™ Platforms are based on a new kind of architecture, which combines high-performance cores (Performance-cores) paired with smaller high-efficiency cores(Efficient-cores) to desktop x86 PCs for the first time.

Due to the new technology Intel is observing a lower score on 12th Gen Intel® Core™ Platforms with performance hybrid architecture using Windows 10. This low CPU utilization could be also monitored on Chaos products like V-Ray and Corona.

Upgrading to Windows 11 allows your system to use the full capabilities of the Intel 12th Gen Intel® Core™. Read more about that in the following article - Performance Hybrid Architecture in 12th Gen Intel® Core™ Platforms Using Windows® 10

Chaos officially supports 12th Gen Intel® Core™ Platforms on Windows 11 only.

Note: Chaos does not recommend the usage of any unofficial solutions to increase the CPU utilization of Chaos products on Windows 10.
