I use Corona render myself and find the panos generally render quite quickly, although we have a five node Distributed Rendering farm in-house here. It all depends on your hardware processing power, and the resolution you want to render out the panos at.
Once you learn simple pano renders, you should look into stereoscopic panos, as they are a lot more engaging to look at. Stereoscopic panos have depth of field because the render two slightly different images either side to side or over under. The images differ by an IPD distance offset (
interpupillary distance).
