HDR Environment Map looks low res 2020

Hi,

I'm having a problem with the HDR environment mapping.

I've used the exact same 16k HDR in Blender and had absolutely no issues with the quality.

I used the same HDR image in 3DS Max and it looks super low res, washed out and inflated.

What am i doing wrong?

I've attached my settings in the thread.

Any help with this would be appreciated.

3ds Max is downsizing the image in the viewport to prevent a drastic performance hit.  Regardless of how it looks in the your view, it will render out just fine.

If you really want to see it more clearly, you'll need to adjust the viewport settings.  Right click the + and choose Configure Viewports.  In the Display Performance tab you can adjust the maximum resolution of textures, environment, and baked procedurals.  But increasing these can affect performance, and have no effect on the final renderings.
