Environment not rendering

I put a hdr image for my background and its not rending out. I have already set the scene up to use a environment background and it still renders out white when i bring the image up in a photo viewer yet it shows its rending the imaging while observing it in Max. I'm not a newbie ive done several scenes with background imaging and this is the 1st ive had this problem idk if its a 2016 version thing but im encounter many problems with this version of max these last couple weeks. Any knowledge is appreciated

I think it has something to do with the MR sun and MR sky for some reason max automatically should add a sky background but max doesn't i think that is what you're using,

I am not sure how to change the environment on MR sun and MR sky. so i would not use that and choose your own  environment map

I don't have a MR sun or sky in my scene i never use them cause they slow down rendering times all i have is a regular omni light to light my scene.

Would it be possible for you to attach an archive of your scene (Application menu > Save As > Archive)? It would be much quicker to take a look at it directly.

In the meantime, off the top of my head I would say that you're saving in a format that supports and alpha channel with the alpha channel enabled so that the background automatically is rendered transparent. Some image viewers will represent this transparency as white.

Try saving as a BMP and see if the background shows up.

Its too big to upload a archive version on here but i tried your suggestions and it worked i usually only render in png format i see i will have to start using other forms didnt know they affected scene imagery this much. Thank you!!
