Arnold renderer version 2018

Hi

Because my 3D Max 2016 has ended his happy life prematurely because of the license terms I have installed the 2018 version. Sad ...

At a first glance: shock!

Where is the good old Mental Ray? Then I started to read about nVidia and so on. First of all I told to myself "what a pitty", the good MRay which has developed in an effective way in 2016 version. The second thought after playing around was "wait a second, this is really good".

Seems the settings are really simplified and the render time at a first glance is good. But I am still searching about Global Illumination settings ...

My questions are:

1. A reliable link for Arnold tutorials and shaders / materials. Yes I have searched on the net but there are many resources. I am asking for one that users here consider complete and reliable. One resource that you did followed when needed. This one was at the second glance very effective: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1kpXcQddXZU for my mind.

2. Are there some materials to be downloaded then loaded as library inside Max? Free and legal. I started a bit rushly but the whole structure of materials is new and I could not make a Glass Material from the first try.

3. From 2018 version to 2021 this new render engine has evolved much or we have the usual difference between versions which does not bring up notable updates? Let me put it in another way: should I install 2020 version because it is really worthing and the news are amazing or can I stick on to the 2018 version along with his Arnold version?

Thanks to all.
