Arnold & Autodesk Materials

I sincerely hope that there are plans for the Arnold render to support Autodesk materials. Just tried it for the first time and got a bunch of error messages. This is going to be a huge problem for my workflow.

Using Building Suite Premium. All my modeling and material assignment is done in Revit.

Thanks,

Rudy Beuc

Hello,

Arnold can support Autodesk maps however the option has to be enabled; it is OFF by default as this can cause a performance drop when rendering.  In Render Settings go to the System tab and check "Legacy 3ds Max Map Support".  Hope this helps!

Ok gave it all a shot.

First off, I'd like to thank you for responding to the post.

However......

Whether using the convert scene utility or not, the results were not desirable. Even when it was set convert to Arnold, the camera object imported incorrectly. It's field of view was messed up consistently all three tines. Nothing rendered in Arnold was satisfactory.

Looking forward to when Nvidia makes their plug-in available and I can return to a proven workflow.

thanks,

Rudy Beuc

Sorry, but Autodesk really wants me to accept something as a solution. As of yet, I have not found anything better than waiting for the new plug-in.

Apologies,

Rudy Beuc

I have tried this solution:  checking the Legacy 3ds Max Map Support.

And the maps still don't show: gradient, fall-off Noise (legacy's), etc.

?

Nevermind.  I had to close out of the material editor and open it again.
