3DS Max Mental Ray Ambient Occlusion RTT Issues

Hi Everyone. I use 3DS Max 2018 and have installed NVIDIA MR plugin.

The scene has 3 walls, roof and floor, omni and skylight. Basically just testing AO maps. I used render to texture and tried to render AO map for the floor. However, its coming black. Just a small area with white color. Appreciate if anyone can help me with it. Thanks!

Just a guess but did you make sure you made your room to a real scale? And if not don't just scale it up- remake it. Thus make sure the floor is around 8' x 10', the walls 9' high etc. Make them all to be two-sided as well. For complex things like realistic lighting and AO to work right, you need to be in a scale that is at least "close" to reality.

Beyond that, are you using the MR Ambient Occlusion pass or the built-in Max version?

The room is made as per the real scale. Walls are two sided as well.

My work flow is - after model is done, unwrapped, I apply white color to every poly, assign MR as renderer. Then, I go to Render-To-Texture menu, select polys, and in Output sub-menu, apply Ambient Occlusion and click render.
