3d max 5.1

if i close 3d max 5.1 in windows 7 3dmax.exe no close in process. How to fix this problem?

Max 5.1 was dead 15 years ago? Why are you still using it?

I for instance also still use Max9 as the c++ plugin development is >2 times faster..

 are you saying after you highlight it in the windows task manager and then hit "end process" button in bottom right corner it still wont close?

Yas. If i close 3ds max 5 i see max.exe in windows task manager.

Only 3, 4 , and 5 3ds max creating map and model for Ghost recon 1. GR1 Old game. i create map in 2017 max and export in 3ds in 5 max.
New max no job from old max plygin file if this plygin in dle file format.

where you ever able to "end process" in task manager with max 5 before in windows 7? or is this a new install of max 5 in win 7?

you could install virtual pc on some version types of windows 7. Its free

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/958559

 

put xp on the virtual pc drive

and then try installing max 5 or earlier version on the virtual pc. XP

Your performance might suck but maybe its just enough to help you.

Worst case if it doesnt work virtual pc can be deleted easily.

I have not tested my idea though.

I have several different OP-sys and max versions running in a VM. Max4 in VM is even faster than max2016 on a physical machine! Ever tested Win3.x in a VM? Incredible fast!!!
