Visual Studio 2010

Hey, since April the new Express Version 2010 of Visual Studio is availabale, but the PlugIn Creation Wizard, delivered with the Max SDK does not work for this version anymore! A new project can't be created due to wrong parameters etc.
Is there already a solution for this problem? Maybe Autodesk deliveres an update or short comment on this problem?

Thx in advance

The plugin wizard hasn't been supported in a while, and didn't really work correctly in VS 2008 on many systems either.

However, plugins will compile fine in VS 2010 both in 2008 compat. mode and regular mode, so once that's you get something going there shouldn't be problems.

I'm considering doing a new wizard for it, if I can find any contemporary examples of plugins to base it on. I don't think the wizard templates in the SDK represent current best practices for 2011 plugins.

Hi there

Do you know if the same is true for developing maya 2008 plugins with VS 2010? It seems that:

- cant develop plugins with Visual Studio 2010
- cant download any earlier version of Visual Studio
- stuck

Any iseas of how to do it? I seem to have hit a wall here.

Thanks very much

Can someone from Autodesk confirm that we can develop Maya plugins with Visual Studio 2010, or better Express version?
It is almost impossible to find VS 2008SP1 or 2005 anymore....

Thank you.

you can code with visualstudio 2010 - the problem is the plugin wizard.
I have a project started in 2008, then opened in 2010 and converted, works fine.

try the information found here:

http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-3ds-max/sdk/help-me-i-cant-create-new-project-using-3ds-max-...

It might help you.

they also released lot's of "templateplugins", that might help too, found here:
