Spam and Fake solutions

following the previous thread: AREA moderators, please take action! 

The situation keeps repeating because it’s not being addressed at its core. There will be more spam attacks, and there will be more “fake solutions.”

I suggest, as is done on many professional forums, that solutions to one’s own questions not be counted toward their rating. This would eliminate the possibility of spamming and self-promotion.

There are users on the forum with ratings of 7+ based solely on marking their own posts as solutions, often with comments like, “Never mind, I found the answer myself.”

I assumed that they had always done that way - honestly, my life would also go on without rating.

This issue is being looked at very seriously internally.  Thank you for your input and suggestions.  Since coming back from the holidays our team has been watching this very carefully.
