show end result doesn't work

I really got  a big problem during adding materials in 3d max ...

to show materials in viewport  we should turn on show end result ... but isn't activated it doesn't want to work so I couldn't adjust materials or even use UVW map .....

please I want a helpful solution for that problem ..

I am using 3dmax 2018 , Vray 3.6 and windows 10

To show material in view port turn on (show shaded material in view port ) not end result .
