Replacing Pflow particles with a non object

Hi, so I have nice Pflow system going for making puffly white clouds and want to substitute the spheres I am curently using for atmospheric operators of the same radius and postion they are replacing, on a 1 to one ratio. I am doing this along with trying to learn maxscript so I can really understand what is going on and thought this would be a good first test case for me to try and dig into, as Pflow has a Shape instance replacer that does not handle non objects (lights, cameras, Atmosphereic operators etc...) and I want to to go go a lttle further than it was designed to...soo time for Maxscript.
Here are my questions.
I am biting off more than I can chew here as a first case?
Rough estimate can it be done?
Any places that I can get some starting info on this project? I "think" Bobo or someone had something like it for animated steam coming out of an teapot but I would not need the birth and life asspects of that I think because all of my part would be generated on frame 1 already. Basicly I want a beginners challenge as I have worked in Max since Dos version 3 and have never had to touch scripting but know it would help me a ton career wise.

Hi Carl,

(Thank You for always being so helpful! 🙂 ) You've probably seen this before, but just in case; http://www.scriptspot.com/bobo/gowiththeflow.html That's from Boboland, the page on, "tutorials explaining tricks and techniques related to scripting the Particle Flow..." Hope that helps 🙂 .

Edit: Another popular one is: http://www.orbaz.com/forum/ orbaz.com

Thanks WOW this is one of those times I have had a complete mental DUH! I have spent quite some time working with PFlow and son of a gun I have NEVER thought to see if Olav had forums on his site! DUH apparently everyone has forums now LOL! *ashamed* Yeah this will be a good place to start.

Just so you know, that same tutorial is in the MAXScript Reference, under "How To ... Transfer ParticleFlow Particle Motion To Scene Objects".
