"max" function in MXS?

Does anybody know how to use the "max" math function in MXS. When I type e.g. max(4,2) in the expression controller, it does what it´s supposed to, returns "4". But in a script controller or a custom script it yields a syntaxerror message.

In maxscript, the function you want is amax, for example:

amax 4 2 15 25

Though you can search (and find) pages with amax using the online help system (filtering by Developer's Documentation and MAXScript language checkboxes), it's easier to use the offline chm maxscript reference (download link).
