Post render Scripts/callbacks

Are there any none issues with post render scripts and post render callbacks failing to complete?
It seems like the execution of a post render script by a particular render node is overridden by the assignment of a new job to that same render node. I am using 3dsmax 2012 Vray 2.10.01 with backburner.

Has anyone used post render scripts/callbacks in combination with backburner with success. Any specifics on what you used them for would be greatly appreciated.

Isn't it amazing that you are SOL if you want assistance coding this poorly documented scripting language you probably have to pay for a support call? I have attempted more than a few scripts that ended up going nowhere because of disfunctional, poorly documented software and those projects are stalled. Meaning the effort to get them as far as they are was a waste of many man-hours.

Imagine if appliances or cars were made the same way. Support for your 2011 Chevy would be dropped before the year is out and you would have to rely on your neighbors and other Chevy owners to try and find a solution.

How did we let this happen to us?

Did you ever find a work around for this? I am running into the same issue with Backburner and it only fully executing the post render script on the last scene in theh BB queue.

Thanks,

Kevin

I did find a work around to the situation that I was experiencing, and it is a hack of a solution, but it works. I am posting it in case anyone else runs into the same scenario.

I have a simple "MoveOutput" utility script that makes a directory based on the system time and moves my rendered images from my render path into the new directory. If I place that "MoveOutput" script in the Render Setup/Scripts/Pre-Render Slot and then I put a "DoNothing" script in the Post-Render slot., the "MoveOutput" script run as I expect it to.

As the name implies, the "DoNothing" script has one line of code that has a simple Print statement in it.

I did try a number of combinations of putting the scripts in one slot or the other and the one above was the only combination that worked.

I hope this may help some else.

Kevin
