Knot shift when using 'reverse'.

The problem:
When reversing the knot order within an editable spline via maxscript the knots get rotated (shifted).
To replicate:
Create two circle shapes.
Convert one to ed-spline, select spline and click 'reverse'. Knot #1 is positioned @ 3 o'clock.
Use the simple code below to do exactly (AFAIK) the same with the other circle. Knot #1 is @ 6 o'clock.
The result:

Is this how it is or am I doing something wrong here?
I'm guessing the answer is yes, that is how it is, and pre-emptying the fact that even more code is needed to correct it but if anybody could just confirm that this is indeed the case then I'd appreciate it.
