Keyboard Poly scripts

I have a number of simple Drag & Drop scripts for poly modeling that I have assigned to keyboard shortcuts. But these shortcuts only work at the base level of an Editable Poly object and will not work with an Edit Poly modifier.

Here is an example of one of the scripts:

$.connectEdgeSegments = 1
$.EditablePoly.ConnectEdges ()

How could I modify this to work with both?

Instead of $ or $.EditablePoly, you could use the result of modPanel.getCurrentObject() call. That may work in quite a few cases, but there's no really general approach as some of the properties and functions have different names and you have to test whether the active object is the modifier or baseobject and apply the right one.
