Import / Export Scene States:

Hi,

I have a corrupt scene file (It's openable, but I have moved all objects to a fresh new scene) but would like to now bring in the scene states to this new scene file. I have looked on Scriptspot but can't find anything.
Does anyone know if this is possible?

Thanks 🙂

I doubt that preserving entire scene states is feasible when creating or merging new scene elements. The Scene State entity represents the state of the scene at a specific moment, so it's not possible to replicate it entirely. It might be possible to transfer certain scene settings and parameters from one scene to another, but it won't be accurate in all cases.

I think it's more about figuring out how to bring new elements (objects) into a scene without changing the lighting, material, and camera states associated with rendering, for example.

Hi,

Makes sense. I wasn't really thinking of the whole picture, as I only really needed one type of parameter (Sun Rotation and Height) and was disregarding the other parameters saved inside scene states. Homer Simpson moment.
In the end I just managed to open the corrupt scene, strimmed down and copied the Sun Rotation and Height numbers with a pencil and paper. Kinda reminds me of that story about NASA spending millions researching how to get ink to work in outer space, when a pencil did the job just fine.
