Can I send a render to Backburner without opening the scene in 3ds max?

Is there a way I can launch a render via backburner without opening 3ds max and manually sending it? Would that be a windows command line trick?

Use the 3dsmaxcmd.exe tool for that.
Alternatively, you can create a standalone application.

There is a sample of such an app in 3dsMax SDK.
