Hello,

Recently having some troubles with modelling in 3ds Max. When modeling sometimes my perspective/front viewport switches to orhographic mode and my model fades away. Then I end up with a small square on my viewport. Can get my model back by going back to front view. How do I solve/avoid this problem.

Hi,

This is very strange, i tried to reproduce your problem with your scene, on my Max 2017,

For about 20 minutes but nothing, the file is perfect with no issues!

For the switching to the Orthogonal view, the only way this can happen

Beside a bug, is to press the U letter. And, also, if you're in the front viewport and used

The Alt+Middle Mouse wheel button you'll start orbiting the view in an orthogonal fashion.

Now, for the fading issue, you can try something, even though i didn't need it,

And that is to Enable Viewport Clipping and dragging the yellow rectangles to the

Upper and lower extremities.

Hi,

This is weird,

Now i can think of two tests you might try:

1- Change your Graphic Mode, by going to the Customize menu, preferences,

Viewports tab, click on Choose driver, and from the list try choosing a different option

than the current one. starting from the upper options down. You'll need to restart Max

after each choice.

2- Resetting your user settings by closing Max and going to:

C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\20xx - xxbit

Then changing the ENU folder's name to something else like ENU.old then reopen max

Resetting my user settings might've done it.

There is a button right here, it can reset the current view with the glitch, but before then, make sure all your stuff is in the middle on the grid.
