What do the blue seams mean when adding cuts whilst UV unwrapping? And how do you get rid of them?

Hi @t_smith5

What do the blue seams mean when adding cuts whilst UV unwrapping? And how do you get rid of them?

The blue seams are called "Peal Seams" because they help you isolate sections of the mesh for use with Quick Peel, or Pelt Map for example which will only operate on that part of the mesh.  The user creates these seams according to how you want to unwrap the mesh.  Then you select the polys that lie within the seams (select a poly within the area and then "Expand Polygon Selection To Seams").   You can hide the Seams by unchecking  "Peel Seams" in the Display section, but that does not actually get rid of them.    To actually remove them, go to edge mode, select Edit Seams and then Alt + Left click on the edges you want to remove as seams.  Hope this clears it up for you.

I meant to include the image below to help you find the buttons.

Thanks for the explanation. Usually when I hold Alt and left click on them, it doesn't remove them. But next time I get them, I'll try playing with those other options. Thanks. 🙂 Not quite sure what I've done or clicked on to cause them to appear...
