The green edges are seams used for the ordinary unwrap. The blue edges are seams used only for pelt-mapping (a different unwrapping-method). The blue ones do not affect the green ones, so there is no absolute necessity to get rid of them.

If you want to get rid of them, r-click the UnwrapUV-modifier and collapse it. Assign a new UnwrapUV-modifier and they will be gone.

The Green Edges that are displayed are where a seam exists on the model from the UVing that you have done (or that already exists on the model), it is visualized to help you see and understand how and where your seams are to help you better UV. You can turn the UV seam display on/off on the Unwrap UVW modifer via Configure > Map Seams (checkbox)

The Blue Edges are seams. Seams are something that you define on the Unwrap UVW modifier and are extremely useful to help you not only make selections of faces, but are used by various tools in the Unwrap UVW modifier (and Edit UVW editor) to help with Peel, Pelt and other unwrapping. Seams are similar to the idea of "breaking" an edge in the Edit UVW window except that are predefined by the user. The tools to define seams are found in the Unwrap UVW modifier > Peel > Seams and there are a bunch of them that are pretty useful:
- Edit Seams allows you to use your LMB to add a scene (or use ALT + LMB to remove a seam)

- Point to Point Seams allows you to click the start and end edge that you want defined as a seam. The software with then use a shorted route algorithm to find its way between the selections.

- Convert Edge Selection to Seams is a useful tool for turning an edge selection into a seam

You can hide the display of seams via the Unwrap UVW modifer via Configure > Peel Seams (checkbox)
