Substract Spline with Bevel modifier from Spline with Lathe modifier

Hi everybody,

I am kind of new to 3ds max. I modelled a Beerbottle from a spline I imported from a DXF. Now the bottle bottom has small embossed marks. I made those by importing the splines as DXF and beveling them with the bevel modifier. I want to substract the little objects from the bottle, so the marks are carved out of the bottle.

I thought it would work by selecting the lathe and make a compund object -> boolean substract and select the little beveled objects. But when I select the bottle, then chose compound object Boolean is greyed out. I figure it is because the spline lathe is not working as a solid object.

Does anyone have a suggestion how to go about this? Your help is greatly appreciated.

Attached is a screenshots, so you see what I mean.

Thank You

Pro-Boolean subtract does not require solid objects (topologically closed) but the surface normals must be consistent.

WHen I lathe a spline I usually try to draw the spline  in a counter clockwise direction to ensure outward facing normals.  If its CW then just reverse direction of the spline.  The problem is more likely with the little objects.  As a test try subtracting a box from the lathed object.  Also try subtracting a box from part of the little object.  This might help you identify the problem.
