Hi guys,
I've got a bit of a problem here. It's probably just going to be solved with the correct function again, but since I can't really tell how you'd call a function like that I can't find any solution.
When I started to model things I usually relied on destructive methods, so many boolean operations. Later I used a lot of symmetry and pivot movements. And for current projects I moved to modifying the vertices, edges or surfaces of poly modifiers to form an object into the correct shape.
Now I'm stuck with a problem where I require a very symmetric shape and I fear that I cannot just model it correctly by hand only. I could rely on destructive methods again but I was rather hoping for an alternative route.
It's about having a box, where one side is bigger than the other one.
I can select the side and just use the scale tool and stretch it. That will give me a box with either a smaller or a bigger base. But the lines connecting the smaller and the bigger square side are always straight.
Is there a way to get a curved side, much like it's done with bezier curves for the spline tool? I know there is a stretch modifier as well, it works great on a sphere to get a similar shape to what I was looking for. But when I do that on a box it doesn't work. The modifier itself however shows exactly that operation that I'm looking for.
I've also added a picture with what I'm getting and what I want. The third picture was done using a boolean to show how it is supposed to look like. Is there any way to do this any other way than cutting it out or modelling it by hand?
