Strange cut behavior..

Hi everybody..

Using max 2021 for my model and trying to fix manually some issues with vertexes. Found out that vertex A & B are not connected through an edge - I need to do this with "cut" but max puts edge C.. - so without C..A&B are not connected - don't know exacly why this happens but any ideea is welcome. thanks!

I would try switching between ortographic and perspective views. Cut function often do weird stuff 😕

Also you can try selecting both verts and using "connect" function. It should work, unless there's something wrong with the mesh itself (like, duplicated verts)

Also there's a P-Connect tool on the ribbon. It might work better for You. Read the tool-tip for all the shortcuts and stuff. 🙂

Tried to use connect & P-connect and both doesn't work. I actually see which is the main problem.. when using cut function doesn't snap to the second vertex.. actually creates a new one which is removed together with additional edge. Cannot weld or target weld either 😐

Ok, so i got those verts. Which ones do you want to connect here? (i tried to do different cuts and everything worked well)

Unless you want to connect vertex 1 with vertex 2 (pic attached), then You can't because they're on the other side of geometry 😛

So we have an answer :).. on the other side it's not neccesary and possible. thanks!

remember that I saw somewhere this and thought it's possible.. I think I was wrong & now we have a conclusion.
