Rotating attached objects as one.

Hi all this is my first post.

I'm having issues with rotating objects that I have attached to each other as a whole. Basically when I select the group of objects and try to rotate them they all rotate around their local transforms which breaks the model. Is there a way to fix this? should I reset the pivot of the attached objects or something? The model is of an X-wing and the wing is the part I'm trying to rotate along with all the separate engine parts etc.

Any help you can throw my way would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Hi,

When you choose Rotate make sure the Reference Coordinate system you're using

Is set to View not Local

Thanks for the reply appreciate it. I'm assuming that your solution is correct however I managed to get it working by duplicating the model and then rotating the duplicated model must have reset it back to view like you said. For some strange reason the model had become constrained to edge as well which was causing me all sorts of problems. Thanks for the help.

If you select multiple independent objects and rotate you will have two different reactions if:

image.png Use a common pivot for all objects

image.png Use each individual pivot of each object, that is the problem you described.
