Problem with Bevel Profile Modifier

Basically I'm trying to replicate a building which has this decoration around it that theoretically can be achieved with Bevel Profile, but when I take the shape of the building and use the bevel profile modifier this happens: The spline gains very little thickness and is not my desired shape at all. Can someone help me troubleshoot?

Hi,

I think you created the profile on the XY plane(the same creation plane for the path) then rotated it,

You can try to draw the profile in the front viewport, or you can keep the same profile

And go to its Spline sub-object, select it (make sure all segments are selected),

And use Rotate. Try the X or Y axes to see which one will fix the problem.

Don't forget to press A on the keyboard to turn ON Angle Snap to avoid decimal values in your rotation.

I did create the profile on the front viewport, but I'll try rotating it.

Okay, I tried rotating the profile in every way possible but it doesn't seem to affect the spline at all.

I also tried creating a new profile, and the same thing is happening. The problem seems to be with the base spline, which I got using the "create shape from selection" function from another model. Could that be the issue? And if it is how do you suggest I fix it?

Select the path, go to the Utilities panel, click Reset XForm, then click Reset Selected,

Now you can right-click and convert it to an Editable Spline (this step is only to make the modifier stack less crowded),

And try again.
