Is there a way to check if two separate objects are overlapping ?

I'm looking for a script or setting in 3ds max that will enable me to check multiple components to see if they overlap.

?

Hi,

I don't think such tool exist in 3ds Max. Separate objects can overlap in Max.

One thing you can do is drag select an object and check the number of objects in your selection.

3ds Max doesn't have a sophisticated implementation for solid modeling which would enable good interference analysis.  However, you can use the ProBoolean feature in may cases to determine if two objects intersect.  Select an object that you suspect intersects with another object then use ProBoolean / Intersection and then click Start Picking and pick the other object.  If something remains after the ProBoolean intersection you have your answer along with where and how big the interference.  You can also use ProBoolean subtract to aid in determining an intersection.  Check out the face count of an object (File, Summary Info) before and after a ProBoolean subtract to see if it has been changed by the operation if the results are not visually obvious.
