Need a help for inscribing objects

Hi community, I was wondering if someone knows a way or if there is a tool to inscribe an object, for instance a cube as an editable mesh inside a sphere, so that its vertexes are limited to the polygons of the sphere.

Hope you understand my request and answer as soon as possible.

Are you asking to make the 8 vertices (corners) of a cube coincident with 8 vertices of a polygon model of a sphere?

Can you provide pictures of some examples?

Thanks leeminardi for the reply.

I would like to do something like the picture but in a precise way using some tool.

So far, I have done it manually by moving the vertexes, but it becomes complex if the object I am going to work with has several vertexes and has no a defined shape like a cube.

It looks like a tough problem and it is not clear what constraints you must adhere to.  E.g., to what degree can you distort the inscribed object to get coincident vertices?  I don't think I can help.
