Material won’t add to my shape.

Hi Guys!

I am currently trying to add a material onto my shape. It’s a fairly odd/complex shape. I’ve tried adding as a material (using bitmap) on my material editor, but when I add the material is goes shaded? Doesn’t happen for any of my other objects, just this console table!

How is it supposed to look?

How does your material look?

How does other object with same material look?

What's wrong with Edit Normals modifier?

And most importantly - why are you taking photos of the screen? It's hard to tell what is going on with all this moire.
