map size scale in relation with model

Hi

Can someone please explain me or send me a link to a post that do it:

Why UVW mapsize have always a nonsense size in real scale on model?

What I have to do to simple write 50cm and the map have 50cm?

.

I supose that is the relation between the map image size and the model scale.

but what are the correct workflow to manage this and make me stop loosing hours of my life on this?
