How do I remove an edge loop?

Sorry, I know this is a total noob question, but I'm coming to max from other 3d apps and I just can't find the shortcut to remove an edge loop. I just want to select a loop and remove it. Can any one help?

Your object must be an Editable Poly or have Edit Poly modifier applied.

-Select an edge, choose Loop from Command Panel.
-Press Ctrl+Remove. Clicking Remove button alone will leave isolated vertices.

Brilliant!! That's exactly what I was looking for. I kept hiiting Remove and was left with a bunch of verts. Thank you so much!! You just made my day.... maybe my week. : )
