Help with edges

Hi, I'm a beginner and I'm having an issue with an edge. So I'm following blueprints and I started by creating a plane and then Shift+drag to add more planes. Now I have to add an edge but it doesn't work and no idea how to do. As you can see below, I managed to create the edge on the horizontal part but I can't shift+drag anymore. How should I do? Is there any smart way to create 90 deg planes automatically without having to drag each line manually?
