Hi.. slowly i'm getting the hang of 3ds max 2019.3 fluid simulation. Working on a river stretch and it starts looking good.. Only my simcache (foam | solid| voxel)is getting pretty big (560gb ) and my machine is strugling to playback the simcache ... I had a decent rig i thought (AMD 2950x / 64G ram/ M2's and more storage/1080Ti) but it seems this is not enough...
Does anyone has an idea how to work with these amount data? What kind of machine(s) do you need?
I'm working on a real scale section of a river i created using a drone and photogrammetry. Its 110m (11000cm) long and 80m wide (8000cm) In my simulation u used a master voxelsize of 5...
Could/Would down-scaling the enviroment mesh, and running a simulation result in a smaller simcache size and as such a better playback / shorter render times?
Or should i use a bigger master voxel size?
Any tip is welcom
