Hi, I am a video production teacher. I teach Autodesk Maya and I haven't use 3DS Max (no hate please).
I have a student who is using this tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K1ee12ZqTVA&t=1537s
They are stuck pulling geometry across the body of the aircraft. In the video, 3DS Max makes perpendicular geometry as the plane is resized. But my student cannot get this to happen in the attached model.
I'm afraid I cannot advise him. Would anyone be able to help? He's running up against a school deadline next week.
Thanks so much!

Is the issue that when Shift+drag moving the edges simply move and don't copy? If so then he may have an edge selected still that's within the geometry and not the border edges only.
