Hi Guys

Anyone know the best workflow to drape solid AutoCAD hatching onto a 3ds Max surface?

It might be done, but my first instinct is to not do it at all.  I used to use the Conform compound object to drape a plane over terrain, but to get it to follow smoothly the Plane had to have hundreds of segments.  I'm assuming the Hatch is just a flat surface with no edges running through it.  It will not 'bend' or conform to a surface without some tessellation or dividing it into multiple faces.

So I have to ask why do you need to drape it down?  If it is a case of needing to change a material in that area, you could try doing a Shapemerge on your surface using the outline of the hatch, then change the Material ID inside and use a Multi/Sub-Object material.
