Creating edge from splines

I was wondering how can I create an edge on a box from spline (vice versa of "create shape from selection" on the edit poly edge menu)

Three options:

1. Use the Cut tool in the Editable Poly or in the EditPoly modifier

2. Use the Graphite Ribbon > Freeform > Spline to project a spline on EditablePoly objects

3. Use the Freehand Shape (3ds max 2018.2 & up) to draw the spline on selected object

What if I import an elevation from auto cad? Is there a way to stick those lines on the box and convert them to edges so that each window and door etc. is a polygon?

Try to use the Extrude modifier on top of door, windows, etc.
