Can anyone help me with this? im creating a vodka bottle idea ive designed as part of my university degree and have no idea on what the best approach is to make this come to life 😞 The bottle would be round in shape but also each shape on the image would be sharp and angular some cutting into the cylindrical shape and others out. Almost like a crystal style. Can anyone tell me how I would go about this whole project?
I would first determine how many "sides" to the bottle pattern. For example, 3, 4, 5, 6, etc. Let's assume 8 basic sides. Create a starting 2D profile and add a lathe modifier of 45° (360/8). Set the number of segments (I will use 3). Convert the shape to an Editable mesh and adjust the interior vertices as desired. Keep the outer edge vertices alone as you want them to match up when the shape is arrayed. The green object below is after the lathe modifier, the pink after some vertices have been moved.
Use array to create a total of 8 copies over 360°.
