cant see vertices in edit mode

When I'm editing an editable poly and I select vertices they disappear. I'm using max 2012 design and the nitrous driver. It only happens in wireframe and hidden line mode. any suggestions.

There are some answers if you search this forum.
verticies visibility

They didn't help me. What helped me was to disable hardware shading (Shift F3 i think) and puff they were back 🙂 Try this first.

its not a problem, it happens when you hide some elements in your poly ( element or polygon for example )  and forget your last selection in vertex level

even if you unhide  the hidden parts in element or polygon level.

to fix this :

go to vertex level , and hit unhide all.

Nothing above worked for me, found what did on a forum, just sharing here for anybody in the future:

[from 3dTotalFoums - commented by user daniel1982]

"Very possibly, your problem is that the option "SHOW END RESULT" is turned on (that is the second icon on the bottom of the modifiers stack), but you dont have any other modifier on top of your editable poly."
