Not sure if this is possible, but any help would be appreciated.

Im fairly new to 3dsmax, so im not too knowledgeable with the product.

Im hoping to take a mesh. For example, the front bumper of a car. I want to then duplicate that mesh, and offset the scale / position slightly so that the new mesh doesn't conflict with the existing mesh.

Essentially, it is so that when i bring the models into the game that i am making the car for, i can have a mesh for the cars paint, and then a mesh for the cars graphics. Obviously if i just duplicate the mesh, the 2 mesh's will be in the exact same place and conflict with each other. Similarly to how vinyl wrapping a car in real life would work. You have the body of the car, then something that perfectly conforms to the outside of the vehicle without conflicting with it.

I hope i have described that in a way that is clear.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
