Stuck on selection region

Hi, I am trying to figure out how to switch between the rectangle selection region and the circular selection region. Somehow I've been stuck on the rectangle and I can't seem to switch.

Click and hold the little carrat in rectangular selection icon on the main toolbar and a dropdown menu appears including circular selection as an option.

 apologize I wasn't specific here; I know about this. My issue is that I'm stuck with the rectangular selection, maybe perhaps because I ctrl+clicked on more than one icon in toolbar? I'm not sure if I clicked something that's preventing me of switching the selection type. (as you can see in toolbar below, I have the circle selection but I am only able to do rectangle selection for some reason) And, my UI now looks like this because I accidentally ctrl+clicked on the rectangle selection icons too many times.

You also have double icon for Window Crossing.  Can you right click and delete each of the rectangular selection icons?

Also, you should be able to hotkey the different Selection Region types you want via the hotkey editor allowing you to select them by keyboard instead of what may now be a corrupted toolbar.   It won't fix your UI -- probably only renaming 3dsmax.ini will do that as explained below.

You will lose any previous customizations you did to the UI, but if you have previously saved your Custom UI Scheme via Customize>Save Custom UI Scheme,  you should be able to Reload it after resetting 3dsmax.ini.

Actually there are many types of region selection option.

You can toggle between them using "Q".
