Revit model has way too much unnecessary information

Hello everyone,
I'm currently trying to export a fully coordinated MEP model from Revit to 3DS for a better Rendering but the issue is that the file is being exported with lots of things that are either unnecessary or duplicated such as masking regions, center lines, etc, which is resulting in a 4gb .DWG file and it is being a pain in the neck to coordinate.
I've tried saving the central as a new file and removing all filters, purging all elements from the project, removing absolutelly everything I wouldn't need from the view templates and then exporting the .DWG again but it is still heavy enough to give my GTX 1080ti some long minutes process thinking.
Please, there must be an easier way to do that. If anyone has any idea of what I must be doing wrong, let me know.
Best regards,
