reduce polygon count in a selected area of a mesh model

Hi all

I'd like to be able to reduce the polygon count of a mesh model but only in certain areas, much like the remesh tool in Meshmixer.

My scene has a couple of mesh objects that have a lot of detail and id like to reduce areas that are not "visible" if possible.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

1- Apply a MultiRes modifier, then expand the modifier, choose vertex,

2- Select the Vertices that you like to maintain

1- Select vertices that you like to keep1- Select vertices that you like to keep

3- Check the option Maintain Base Vertices

4- Click the Generate button (you should see the selected vertices change to asterisks shape)

Now scroll up, you'll see two parameters that became Active, Vert Count and Vert Percent,

Use the one you like to reduce the resolution by reducing the value in the input area

2- Reduce the resolution2- Reduce the resolution
