ProBoolean and link and select doesnt work (3dsmax 2018) im desperated

Hi

I have some issues with 3ds max 2018. With proBoolean and Select & Link.

It worked all before in the same project. im guessing i pressed on a wrong buttom or something?

I looked on forums for problems with proBoolean and tried, nothing worked. ( more polygons on both objects and + edit poly).

Select and Link worked on my biped before, now it doesnt... I know there is another way at animation tab but it cost to much time if i need to link multiple objects.

When i save my selected objects seperated as a max file and open in 3ds max 2019 its has the same issues.

If i close my 3ds max. and restart 3ds max without loading my current project. And test Proboolean on a simple box and cillinder, then it works al fine. Even my select and Link works on a biped.

My guess is wrong hotkey becaus the problem i have now is all saved in my current project.

Any pro's can help me out?

Sorry for my bad english!

Greetings

Floris

Check your selection filter. Make sure it`s set to 'All' or whatever type you want to pick in your scene.

Hi,

I checked my 3ds-max and the select option is on All, guess there is another problem.

Link & Select doesnt work anymore also. i have to go to the animation tab to add link.

Got any suggestions?

Thank you for answering.

Hello and sorry for the delay.

I took a look into your scene files, and the first thing i noticed was that they where infected by the infamous Maxscript-virus ALC.

Read about it here:

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/3ds-max/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Scene-...

Boolean operation and select-and-link are working just fine with your file. So this issues might be caused by the malicious script infecting your scene.

About select-and-link: Please note that once you applied a Link constraint to an object, it`s no longer affected by it`s parent object transform. Parent has to be specified in the Link constraint then.

Glad it worked out for you. Did you remove the 'infection'?
