Hi

 

I'm currently trying to make some hair cards on my mesh using PolyDraw Strips. However, dragging out on the mesh makes a really thin strip. So I tried changing the Distance from Pixels to Units, but I can't get it to work. No matter what Minimum Distance I set it to - low or high - dragging on the mesh produces nothing. I've even tried adjusting the Offset, but nothing shows up.

It might depend what system units you have set. It seemed to work with metres when I tested it here on a big sphere.

Ahhh. Okay, thanks. Thing is, our tutors have recommended for us to have the units set to Centimetres. Guess I'll have to change it each time I want to set it to Units.

No not at all. Cms should be perfectly fine as a system unit. So long as you’re aware of the size of your scene and the size you’re entering in the Min Distance box, it should work. I was just wondering if your object is a lot bigger than you expect, so min distance is really small in comparison.

Okay. Well, I think my character is actually small...? When I import it into the Unreal Editor, it's very VERY tiny. Well, the head is at least, when I imported that to test. I have to scale it up to 100-200 on the X, Y, Z.

I can't get to work in Metres either. 😕 I am doing it correct, right...? I select the object I want to work with, enable Surface and Draw On: Surface, I click on the object I want to work on, put the offset to about 0.001, under PolyDraw I pick a New Object, click on Strips, set it to Units, adjust the Min Distance, and the drag over the object to draw/paint the strips.
