How would you achieve this modeling?

I have to model this sofa bed, just like in this picturesofa-cama-de-1-plaza-verde-agua-1000-4-18-175580_1.jpg

I have a general idea of what to do, but it is a bit tricky, only thing im 100% sure how to model is the pillow and the legs. I'm not looking of a step by  step tutorial of how to do it, I'd just like to get a general idea of how you would achieve this.

That look typical for cloth simulators. Marveleous designer would be ideal, but if you search youtube you will see numerous examples of people trying to use max cloth for that (more or less sucessfully)

Prueba sofa cama.pngthis was my first attempt at it, what's difficult about this is that it is just one piece. I am not sure how to achieve the upper part shape, which is like a giant pillow, also the upper lines dont go all the way around. Check out the back part of it.sofa-cama-de-1-plaza-verde-agua-1000-4-18-175580_5.jpgI also am not sure how do that without messing up the topology.

 

I used the cloth modifier by the way.

For a first try it looks great,

In Marvelous designer you would achieve those corners simply with the shape of the fabric, adding extra fabric in the corners. Marvelous designer was done originally as a real cloth designer and anything there is how logically you would do with the real thing. Most of the cloth emulators have the tendency to go in that direction but it depends how sophisticated they are. Also in this case could make sense as an option to have a base structure with a basic shape that resemble that and then allow the fabric to add extra detail with a inflate effect. It depends how the sofa is being constructed and if those corners are soft or not.
