How to make cog teeth?

Hi,

I have a cylinder and I'm trying to make cog teeth out of it, such as in that picture:

http://www.usefulcomponents.com/ebay/pictures/mechanical/cog/cog_16mm_30_1_s.jpg

What is the method to create a "circle symmetry" so that I can make just one tooth and it gets applied to teeth all around the cylinder?

Thanks in advance

There are some scripts/plugins over at www.scriptspot.com
There is no "circular symmetry" as such, but you can create a circular array, so you make 1 tooth then array it and attach them all together.
Also search here for Cog or Gears - there are quite a few threads, though many are for animating gears rather than making them.

Hi there, thanks for your response.

I found one there: http://www.tutorialized.com/tutorial/Making-a-gear-with-3ds-max/3721

At  some point it says "Select the large circle and then click Attach Multiple in the Modifier panel"

But I can't find that Attach Multiple, in my 2013 Version. Where can I find it?

Thanks a lot

Oh - I see - the old "don't bother telling the reader to perform a vital operation" problem...
Select the large circle and right-click it > Convert To > Editable Spline. Then you'll find the Attach Mult which is on the Geometry rollout, just under Attach.

[edit]I hate it when that happens :P[/edit]
