I'm new to 3ds max and with the 2023 version.

I'm working on this project where i need a steel hardened wire.

I have it done with torus as an object, i stacked 24 of them onto each other and i have it looking like this at the moment

But the problem is that it looks like a floor tube at the moment, so i need a steel hardened texture like this

but i don't know how to do this texture on a object.

if you know how to this, can you please show me a video or a step by step guide how to.

Many many thank!

here's my workflow
- Create Helix
- apply edit spline modifier and or convert it to spline
- activate spline thickness, select radial
- Apply Optimize Spline Modifier just to tweak some of its vertex location
-apply normalize spline to fine tune
- apply FFD(cyl) to tweak some area of the model
- apply Spline Overlap to tweak over lapping of spline
- apply texture, control the texture with UVW
