How can i open a .tx file?

Hello, i need to open a .tx file of one old game but 3ds max doesnt seem to pick it up... How can i open it?

This is an Arnold-specific bitmap filetype. You cannot open it directly, but assign to material as texture map. Or change the ending to .exr or .tif and try to open it with an image editor.
