Connect Problem

Hello,

I am trying to connect multiple lines to create a grid. My lines are planar but they are not united. I used "Cut" to extend middle line. When i select all lines and connect them the command ignores the middle line and connects small lines with the other lines

I attached two screenshots regarding to the problem

Thanks in advance...

I'm not sure if I am correct, but I  think you cannot connect (join/weld) more than two splines in one point. That seems to be a common "problem" or per definition not possible. Maybe this was solved already for 3Ds Mas, then I would like to know as well. Curiously though more than two mesh edges can be connected with a single vertex. Maybe that would be a solution for you. Instead of working with splines in the air, you could used the edges of a mesh. But maybe the mesh quads (or triangles) are bad... It depends on what your next steps would be.

My aim was to create a grid and somehow define profile for each edge. But i couldn't find a way create profile from selected edges.

I attached the photograph of what i was trying to do. But in the end i guess it's much more easier to create a rectangle and multiple lines and enable in renderer & viewport mode to create profile.

Thanks for your answer...

I see. Maybe you use a mesh and then use Lattice. But be careful. Every edge will get a profile and every vertex will get a "sphere". You can change the settings but it starts with both and when the mesh is too complex, Max crashes...
