Cannot move selection

I ran into an issue where I cannot move my selection. I am able to move individual objects, but when I select multiple objects I cannot move in any direction. I am able to rotate however. 

if this helps I have f12 set as my move/transform tool, usually it shows options to move in xyz but now it's only showing xy. Not sure if its related but both happened at the same time.

Here's a few things to look at:

Maybe check the coordinate system isn't set to Screen. 

Check the transform center. If the objects are linked to one another, or all to a common parent, then some center options may not work. 

Have a look at the Link Info under the Hierarchy tab. You may have an axis locked on one of the objects.

I would also check if the Position Controller on one or more objects are set to something other than "Bezier"
